“Understanding the Law and Your Business”
by Stephanie Kleyman
The first few months of any business is when most mistakes happen. The whole process can be overwhelming with a lot of decisions to be made: What legal structure should I have? How do I hire staff? Should I be thinking about shares? What are the minimum legal requirements for my kennel and cattery?
ALIKC is delighted to announced keynote speaker, Stephanie Kleyman who will be presenting a workshop for members at the 2017 Conference. Stephanie is a commercial solicitor with over 25 years’ experience of advising and assisting businesses from start-ups to international corporations. She runs a successful law firm that gives her the practical understanding of how a business works, in addition to her extensive legal expertise.
Stephanie will be looking at the common mistakes often made in business as well as some of the hurdles faced by start-up businesses. She will then advise on the legal steps to get it right the first time and look at how business owners can move forward without any mistakes!
For those delegates that have run a boarding business for many successful years, Stephanie will end her workshop with advice on how to sell or dissolve a business. She will focus on the legal process and will include an overview of the documents that should be filed, financial obligations and advice on what records outgoing business owners are required to keep. Stephanie will also look at the sale of a business, from drafting a sales agreement to transferring ownership and the sale of premises.
For delegates with financial worries, Stephanie Kleyman will be on hand throughout the Conference day to answer any questions.
From advice on how to implement effective contracts, to clarification on terms & conditions, debt collection policies and even business liquidation, ALIKC members and conference delegates should be able to leave this workshop with the recipe for a successful business.
We would welcome any questions from members prior to the Conference, for consideration for inclusion on the day. Stephanie invites ALIKC members to send their questions to firstname.lastname@example.org before 31st October 2017.
